ZigBee Links

ZigBee and UWB: Links

ZigBee Links:

A short introduction to ZigBee

ZigBee Alliance :

The ZigBee Alliance is an association of companies working together to enable reliable, cost-effective, low-power, wirelessly networked, monitoring and control products based on an open global standard. Its goal is "to provide the consumer with ultimate flexibility, mobility, and ease of use by building wireless intelligence and capabilities into every day devices". Companies will have a standard-based wireless platform optimized for the unique needs of remote monitoring and control applications, including simplicity, reliability, low-cost and low-power.

Palo Wireless :

The Palo Wireless site has an overview on ZigBee. The ZigBee Resource Center Contents also has useful links to interesting articles, development tools, books, events, market research and news regarding ZigBee.

HomeToys :

ZigBee Technology: Wireless Control that Simply Works. The site has a good summary on the ZigBee technology.

Cambridge Consultants Ltd :

The Cambridge Consultants Ltd site mentions how one-chip ZigBee solutions will catalyse RF revolution in home and industrial markets. It also has a good summary on ZigBee technical features as well as explanation on an idea for using ZigBee in toys.

Ultra Wideband Links:

Webopedia.com :

Check out the Webopedia site for a short definition of UWB as well as links to a better explanation of UWB.

Freescale Semiconductor :

Freescale Semiconductor launched by Motorola, is a global leader in the design and manufacture of embedded semiconductors for the automotive, consumer, industrial, networking and wireless markets. They have products related to UWB as well as ZigBee. Here is the link to the UWB FAQs page.

U.C. Berkeley UWB Group :

U.C. Berkeley UWB Group has a goal to investigate the design of UWB transceivers realized in conventional CMOS technology. Starting with system considerations like link budgeting, channel and interference modeling, communication distance vs. throughput and so on, it explores low-power architectural implementation trade-offs. Their overall objective is the fabrication and demonstration of networked radios. Has good reading material.

UWB Research Group :

This site has the recent publication and work of a UWB research group based in King's College London

Ultra Wideband Weblog :

The Ultra Wideband Weblog is a site where latest news on UWB as well as on ZigBee can be obtained. This site is certainly recommended for reading.

Intel.com :

The Intel UWB site looks into the usage of UWB, among other things, from the perspective of using it for wireless USB. It also has interesting white papers for reference.

ZigBee and Ultra Wideband Links:

Newstrove.com :

Newstrove is a news-indexing service that has specific coverage on keywords. Here is the link to the Newstrove.com coverage of ZigBee. Other news such as for UWB can also be searched.

ABI Research :

ABI Research publishes technology research reports in the wireless, automotive, residential, energy, and RFID markets. This also includes research reports on ZigBee and UWB.

Spread Spectrum Scene Online :

Spread Spectrum Scene Online is a good online resource for information about Wireless, Spread Spectrum and RF technologies which includes UWB and ZigBee. The site is filled with useful tutorial, how-to and reference information.
