| Materials Science & Engineering |
The programme's curriculum is similar to that at MIT where students are exposed to courses that cut across five classes of materials : biomaterials, ceramics, electronic materials, metals and polymers.
The materials science component of the programme emphasizes the study of the structure of materials and of processing-structure-property relations in materials. The materials engineering component emphasizes the importance of materials processing where improved performance of materials depends directly on advances in processing. Therefore, by selecting appropriate subjects, the student can follow many different paths through the science and engineering of materials, with emphasis on engineering, science, or a mixture of the two.
