Through the course, our students will obtain a strong foundation in the principles of modern biology, biotechnology and biochemical engineering giving them exposure to contemporary thinking in a wide variety of specific fields. Our graduate students will become directly involved in many of the significant research projects of the Department and go on to become leaders in their fields, both in academic and industrial settings.
Graduate students have the opportunity to participate in many areas of research which include: biochemistry, bioinformatics, cancer biology, cell biology, developmental biology, human genetics, genetics, immunology, microbiology, molecular medicine, plant molecular biology, biochemical engineering, cell culture technology, fermentation, biosensing and biotechnology commercialization. Often, the research projects of any one laboratory involve more than one of these categories. |
