This course is recommended for local and International students who do not meet the entry requirements for tertiary studies or simply would like to improve their English Language skills.

The Intensive English course is for students who wish to improve their English proficiency so as to enable them to enter tertiary studies. It is designed to develop students' capabilities and confidence in using the English language for general and academic purposes. It incorporates all aspects of the English language skills of writing, reading, listening, speaking and grammar. The students' learning activities will ensure that students actively participate and manipulate the skills that are taught to enhance their language proficiency.

To allow students to learn at their own pace, this course is carried out in 3 levels each having a 3 month completion period with a total of 9 months to complete all 3 levels. At the end of the course, students will receive the MUST certification of completion.

Students will need to take a placement test to assess their level at the entry point.

Level 1 caters to the needs of lower intermediate learners and builds on learners' confidence in using the language.

Level 2 is for intermediate learners and the focus is to improve the proficiency level of your English language while emphasis is given to reading and writing.

Level 3 concentrates on enabling learners to reach the standards required for tertiary level learning. Some analytical and critical thinking skills will be emphasized at this level.

The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is your key to enter international institutions of higher learning. It can also be a measure of your standard of English for entry into universities in Malaysia. IELTS is also essential for those who wish to migrate or work in other English speaking countries.

A 4 week course is offered to students. Its focus is on examination techniques. The modules for IELTS will be conducted in the form of workshops. Upon completion of the workshops, arrangements will be made for taking the international examination.
