MUST’s team won a Merit Prize at MSC- IHLs Business Plan Competition 2005
Two of MUST’s students, Mr. Neoh Wee Keong (M.Sc. Biotechnology) and Mr Lee Chean Chung (M.Sc. Transportation and Logistics) bagged a merit prize in the recent 2005 competition with their business idea entitled "G-Impuls Solutions" an ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) Data Mining Web Services and Applications.
The innovative application is developed to cater to the needs of ATMS (Advanced Traffic Information System) user service in the Klang Valley in monitoring traffic conditions. This application has immense potential to be marketed not only in Malaysia but also other countries due to the increasing need of a more efficient and reliable transportation system. Three of MUST academics were also appointed as internal judges to pick the best entry to represent MUST; they were Dr.Sellapan, Dr.Behrooz Asgari and Dr.Shen Yue Lin.
The idea of organizing the competition was first introduced in 2003 by the Multimedia Development Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (MDC), to increase the level of awareness of technopreneurship among institutions of higher learning in Malaysia.
MUST would like to congratulate the students involved in this project and best wishes to all of them in their future endeavor.
