Visit by the President of University KL (Uni KL)
A team from Uni KL, headed by its new President, Prof Dr. Abdul Hakim Bin Juri, made their first visit to MUST on 7th October 2005. Besides the President, the team members were from the Uni KL, Melaka campus (Uni KL-MICET). They were the Provost, Prof Dr. Mohd Azemi Mohd Noor, the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr Wan Mohammad and their faculty members, Dr Nik Norma and Dr Syed.
The main purpose of the visit was to learn more about MUST and also to explore the possibilities for collaboration with MUST. They are interested in working and partnering with other universities, including MUST, in research projects especially in areas such as biotechnology and chemical engineering, and student exchange programmes, in which their students will be based in two different learning environments in both partner universities.
During the visit, the team was introduced to the MUST management team and its Head of programmes and later, they were given a brief presentation on MUST by the Acting Provost followed by a short campus tour .
Uni-Kl was established in 2002 as a full-fledged university and consists of 8 branch campuses all over Malaysia and one city campus in Kuala Lumpur. Currently, it offers 48 Diploma programmes and 13 degree programmes in technical studies. With the strength of 500 teaching staff, more programmes, including postgraduate studies and research and development (R & D) will be their near future plans.
