Launching of Spacetime In Relativity By Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Zaharudin Hj. Idrus at Academy of Sciences, Malaysia

The launching of a book "SPACETIME IN RELATIVITY" authored by Prof YT Chen of MUST was jointly organized by MUST- ASM and Utusan Publication at the Academy of Sciences, Malaysia on 22nd January 2003.

The book was launched by the President of Academy of Sciences Malaysia and Science Advisor to the Prime Minister, Y Bhg Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Zaharudin Hj. Idrus. In his speech, Tan Sri Zaharuddin stressed the importance of original fundamental research to be done by local scientists in order to be recognized internationally. The book, explained about the theory of relativity, an extension of Albert Eistein's theory and its applications as a tool to strengthen readers scientific and creative thinking skills which is the mother of all scientific and technological success. The book would be published and distributed by Utusan Publication Sdn Bhd.

Invited guests were fellows of ASM, academics from local university, researchers and press people.

Prof Chen is the Director of Centre of Energy and Environment MUST. He and his team are currently doing fundamental research on solar energy.
