MTL510 Logistics Systems

In this course, we will present tools and models for analyzing and optimizing logistics functions and systems. The course would cover demand forecasting techniques including time series and regression models, trade-off between transportation and inventory, lot sizing and deterministic inventory models, safety stock and stochastic inventory models, multi-period and multi-level inventory models, overview of MRP and DRP systems, revenue management, queuing theory and applications, models for vehicle routing and scheduling and supply chain design. The emphasis will be on applying modeling techniques and solving problems using computer-based tools.
